Who We AreAmerica has been honoring brilliant students through honor societies since 1921. Educators began to notice the need for subject specific honor societies in America’s high schools in the 1980's. In this era of rapidly changing technologies and scientific advancement, it is time to encourage and recognize high school students in the Sciences.

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
Open to Second Semester Freshmen, and all Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors

Open to Second Semester Freshmen, and all Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors
Prior to induction into the Jennings High School Chapter of the Science National Honor Society, members must fulfill the following requirements:
- Obtain the recommendation of three science teachers and two administrators.
- Participate in the Jennings High School Chapter of the Science National Honor Society Leadership Training.
- Participate in the Jennings High School Science Internship Readiness Training.
- Have and maintain a 3.5 GPA in ALL of their science courses (freshman through senior years) in order to maintain membership status, and to qualify for internships and scholarships.
In addition, members are required to participate, present, or compete in two science-based projects per year, and present/assist with the Jennings Senior High School Open House, Jennings Senior High School Science Fright Night, and Jennings Senior High School PLTW Day.
